In search of Earth analogues: Detecting exoplanets amid stellar noise

The April 2017 issue of Significance has a popular-level story about the challenges of detecting low-mass exoplanets. The article was written by Dr. Jessi Cisewski, an assistant professor of statistics at Yale University and a collaborator with Penn State reserachers working to improve the state-of-the-art in statistical methodology for Doppler searches for low-mass planets. The research is supported by the National Science Foundation and the Statistics and Applied Mathematical Sciences Institute.
