Welcome New CEHW Postdoc Daniel Carrera

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Daniel Carrera who is joining CEHW as a NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) Fellow, thanks to NASA’s Nexus for Exoplanet System Science (NExSS). NExSS supports interdisciplinary research across astrophysics and planetary science. Daniel’s research focuses on the formation and early dynamical evolution of planetary systems, including the formation of planetesimals and implications for the formation of rocky planets in the habitable zone. Dr. Carrera recently completed his Ph.D. at Lund University in Sweden under the direction of Professors Melvyn Davies and Anders Johansen.

As an NPP Fellow, Daniel will be collaborating with Prof. Eric Ford at Penn State, Dr. Rory Barnes at the Virtual Planetary Laboratory (VPL) at the University of Washington, and Dr. Sean Raymond at the Laboratoire d’Astrophysique de Bordeaux in Bordeaux, France and a member of both the VPL and the Exoplanetary Ecosystems NExSS team at Arizona State University.

The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) and Nexus for Exoplanet System Science (NExSS) will also be supporting Dr. Eva Bodman, who will be hosted at by Prof. Steve Desch at Arizona State University and collaborating with NExSS member Prof. Jason Wright at Penn State.
