Welcome New Members

Please join us in welcoming three new members to the Center for Exoplanet & Habitable Worlds.

Dr. Fabienne Bastien recently completed her dissertation on ” Empirically Interrelating Stellar Chromospheric Activity, Photometric Variability and Radial Velocity Variations to Enhance Planet Discovery” with Prof. Keivan Stassun at Vanderbilt Univeristy.  Fabienne is joining the Penn State team as a Hubble Fellow.

 

Dr. Thomas Beatty is joining us as a CEHW postdoctoral fellow.  Thomas recently graduated from Ohio State, where he was a leader of the KELT project to find planets around bright stars in collaboration with Prof. Scott Gaudi.

Dr. Danielf Jontof-Hutter is joining CEHW as a research associate from NASA’s Ames Research Center where he worked on NASA’s Kepler mission with Dr. Jack Lissauer.  Daniel graduated from the University of Maryland, where he studied  “Magnetic Field Effects on the Motion of Circumplanetary Dust” with Prof. Douglas Hamilton in 2012.

They will complement CEHW postdoctoral fellow Dr. Paul Robertson and NASA Sagan Fellow Dr. Christian Schwab who joined CEHW in 2013, as well as research associates Dr. Chad Bender, Dr. Rohit Deshpande, and Dr. Ming Zhao.
