PandExo: Online Tool for Simulating JWST & HST Observations of Transiting Exoplanets
We are happy to announce the avaliability of PandExo, an online tool and python package for simulating observations of transiting exoplanets with a wide variety of instruments on the Hubble Space Telescope or the upcoming James Webb Space Telescope.
PandExo uses throughput calculations from STScI’s Exposure Time Calculator, Pandeia. To learn more about the added features in PandExo, visit the PandExo online tool and/or the documentation with information on how to download, install and analyze PandExo output.
We will add a link to the paper describing PandExo soon. Many thanks to:
- Natasha Batalha (NSF Graduate Research Fellow at Penn State & NASA Goddard), for her development efforts,
- Kevin Stevenson and Nicholas Earl at STScI, and
- Andy Youstic (Eberly College of Science IT blackbelt) for help setting up the PSU science gateway that originally ran the Pandea online tool.
- NASA for maintaining the new PandExo site
